Transponder Key Programming
We Can Program All Makes and Models of Transponder Keys
The average person owns their vehicle for nearly 12 years. A lot can happen in that time; the household may get new drivers that need access to that vehicle, spare keys may be necessary to avoid lockouts, and of course, original keys may end up lost.
At Advance Auto Locksmith, we provide transponder key programming services for an affordable price. We operate out of a real location, so you always know where to find us, and we also have a mobile locksmith service so we can provide on-the-spot service anywhere in the Orlando region.
Don’t fall for a locksmith scam; do your research to ensure that the locksmith you’re working with has the tools and training necessary to get the job done right. Our locksmiths are certified, insured, and registered, so you can trust that you’re receiving high-quality workmanship that will stand the test of time.
The Parts of a Key
Today’s car keys feature a two-part system for unlocking and operating vehicles. The first is the key itself, which is comprised of the bow, which is usually covered in plastic, and the blade, which manipulates the lock’s internal mechanisms. Alone, the key can unlock the vehicle, but it won’t turn it on. The second part of the key is the transponder chip. This chip, which is generally located within the plastic that covers the bow, is what actually allows you to start up your vehicle.
When you insert your car key into the ignition, the car releases a small electronic field which gives the chip power. Using this energy, the chip sends a message to the car’s receiver. If this message is recognized by the car, it’ll start up; if not, then it won’t.
While it’s true that your dealership can replace your transponder key, they typically charge a hefty sum to do so. We are prepared to provide the same service, but at a more affordable rate.
Our Locksmiths Can Program Your Transponder Key
Some dealerships and locksmiths will provide you with a basic key that will allow you to unlock your vehicle. However, without the transponder chip, the key will not start your vehicle. At Advance Auto Locksmith, our locksmiths specialize in transponder key programming services. We can provide you with a key that will not only get you into your vehicle but also allow you to operate it. Our transponder keys are true replacements for your vehicle’s original set.
